Quantity Surveyor

Full time position, salary £35,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.

​

Location: Office in Scottish Highlands, potential for home working.

 

Full right to work in the UK is essential. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Complete quantity take offs from construction drawings for geotechnical /civil engineering works.

• Carry out site measures of completed works for valuation purposes.

• Manage and process Early Warning notices and compensation events and agree with client.

• Prepare and submit monthly payment applications/ Variations and ensure payments are received on time and are correct as per our claim / entitlement.

• Process CVR for each project and complete within required timescale.

• Process sub-contractor payment applications to payment system and issue for authorisation to contracts manager for sign off.

• Issue payment certs to Sub-contractors.

• Attend site meetings when required and assist with any other commercial aspects in relation to all projects.

 

Essential Qualifications :

• A degree/ HNC in Quantity Surveying or commercial management preferred. 

 

Preferred but not essential experience:

• Management & Supervisory Statutory Duties & Responsibilities.

• Detailed knowledge of Construction (Designed & Management) Regulations 1994. Working knowledge of the NEC contract system. 

• CSCS Card, PTS training.

 

Essential skills:- 

• Numerical and data analysis skills.

• A creative and innovative approach to problem solving.

• Excellent IT skills.

• Ability to work as part of the team and to motivate and lead those on site.

• Project management.

• Resilience, determination and the ability to work well under pressure.

• Attention to detail.
